When Hamlet has privacy, he goes off on himself and
discusses the changes that he is experiencing in his life. In public he deceives
people through his mocking and rude behavior. He also treats people differently
according to an apparent strategy to murder his uncle. For example, the way
that he treats his childhood friends is very different than how he treats
Polonius. He interrogates them and acts in a very intuitive way. When around
Polonius he acknowledges that he is brighter than him and finds his way around
his strategies.
