In Shakespeare’s tragedy, Hamlet, Hamlet
utilizes different tones to speak to different people. In private when he
speaks to himself, he releases the suffering he is going through after his
father's death. He is depressed and also is the epitome of a confused
individual. Since he has proven so far to be a man of his word, Hamlet is
determined to keep the promise that he made with his father's ghost. Furthermore,
when he is with other people he either mocks them or is serious with them but
camouflages his real actions within what he says to Polonius, Ophelia,
Claudius, Guildenstern and Rosencrantz through the language Shakespeare
employs.
